Families registering their child(ren) into the Religious Education program must be registered parishioners of St. John. All new students should present a copy of their Baptismal certificate to be kept on file, if the student was not baptized at St. John, Cromwell. Registration takes place in June for the following school year. It is important to register at this time so that classes may be organized during the summer months.
Tuition fees for religious education are announced prior to June registration. The religious education fees only partially cover the total costs of the program and families are expected to support the church through regular offertory contributions as well. Costs covered by tuition and parish subsidy include the following: textbooks, catechist manuals & materials, staff salaries, weekly rental for the Saturday morning use of WIS School in Cromwell, catechist education programs sponsored by the diocese, sacramental preparation, communication costs, curriculum development, in-service catechists programs and general office operation.
